Daytona Beach Bandshell Concerts & Fireworks, and 4th of July Celebration
Now through September 28, the historic Daytona Beach Bandshell hosts free weekend concerts every Friday and Saturday night starting at 7:15 p.m. The music is sweet, and the price is right: FREE. Only $10 to upgrade to VIP seating.
Fourth of July Celebrations — Eagles tribute band the Alter Eagles will be playing on Thursday, July 4, at 7:15 p.m. with fireworks to follow. In fact, the whole long weekend after the Fourth of July features an awesome concert line-up. On Friday, July 5, Kid Rock tribute band Cowboy will play, followed by the always-popular Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band Nuthin’ Fancy on Saturday, July 6.
And, after all, Saturday night concerts, there is a free fireworks show at 9:45 p.m.
The historic amphitheater is built with coquina, a naturally occurring rock made up mostly of seashells, and is located in Oceanfront Park on the north end of the Boardwalk amusement area overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. You can conveniently park in the Ocean Center garage across the street, rent a chair, buy a drink, kick back and enjoy the show.
Daytona Tortugas Minor League Baseball Games
Head to historic Jackie Robinson Ballpark to catch a home game with the Daytona Tortugas, a Cincinnati Reds Class-A Advanced affiliate. Historic Jackie Robinson BallPark is located on City Island, right next to the Halifax River. The Tortugas play 70 home games from April through September, giving you plenty of chances to experience the fun. Their adorable turtle mascot Shelldon revs up the crowd, and gourmet ballpark food is served from a food truck.
The Tortugas are known for their creative promotions and theme nights. In 2019, there will be five bobblehead giveaways, 24 total fireworks shows, T-shirt giveaways and so much more. Plus, the Tortugas will continue the tradition of being the “Best Dressed Team” in baseball, showing off a new jersey every Friday throughout the season. Fireworks cap off the evening after every Friday and Saturday night home game, during Memorial Day weekend, as well as on July 3 to celebrate Independence Day. Don’t miss out on the action!
Coke Zero Sugar 400
This July 6 nighttime automotive duel is one of the most anticipated races of the season. The Coke Zero Sugar 400 brings out the stars and cars of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, along with pageantry and patriotism. One of the biggest fireworks displays in the Southeast starts as soon as the checkered flag drops, marking the end of the race. It’ll be an Independence Day celebration you’ll never forget!
The 160-lap race under the lights is held July 6 beginning at 7:30 p.m. and is followed by fireworks at about 10 p.m. following the race. Everything happens at the Daytona International Speedway, the World Center of Racing.
The Roof, Above Joe’s Crab Shack
For a fireworks show from a new perspective, try visiting the casual rooftop bar aptly named “The Roof.” Located high above Joe’s Crab Shack directly on the Main Street Pier in Daytona Beach, this hot spot is the perfect place to soak in the ocean breeze, look out over the Atlantic and catch a glimpse of the Bandshell fireworks happening in the not-so-far distance. As mentioned above, the Bandshell hosts a big fireworks show every Saturday night during the summer, plus additional displays on holidays like July 4.
Catch happy hour from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and settle in for appetizers (cooked right downstairs), live music and then the fireworks show as the night progresses. It’s a great option for those who aren’t in the mood to fully rock out at the Bandshell concert but are still looking to enjoy a fun summer night and some bright, twinkling entertainment.
Rockefeller Gardens at The Casements
Celebrate the Fourth of July at the former summer home of American philanthropist and businessman John D. Rockefeller! Rockefeller Gardens will host a July 4th evening celebration featuring live music, inflatables for kids, games and, of course, a fireworks show once the sun goes down!
