The Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando has once again updated its face mask policy and will no longer require fully vaccinated visitors to wear masks indoors.
This important update will take effect Feb. 17, according to a post on the official website.
“Face covering will be optional for fully vaccinated Guests in both outdoor and indoor locations,” the notice said.
Although Disney will not require visitors to prove they’re vaccinated, the resort says it expects visitors who are not vaccinated to continue to wear face masks in all indoor locations.
All guests, ages 2 and older, regardless of vaccination status, will still be required to wear mask on all enclosed Disney transportation such as buses, the monorails and Disney Skyliner.
This marks the second time since the start of the Covid pandemic that Walt Disney World Resort has dropped the mask rule for vaccinated visitors.
The company made a similar change last June after relaxing many of its Covid health and safety measures, including specific physical distancing guidelines.
Less than a month later, Disney World’s indoor mask requirement was reinstated after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued new guidance.
Just a few days ago, Universal Orlando also dropped its mask rule for vaccinated visitors – coincidence? We think not.
