Disney’s Test Track is under transformation this year, transitioning into its new 3.0 version. The revamp draws inspiration from the historical journey of transportation, channeling the original World of Motion attraction that was unveiled at EPCOT in 1982.
Even though the Test Track has been closed for only a few weeks, the work on its makeover is already underway. Disney is yet to disclose the specific timeline for this project. The only hint we have is that the permit for the project does not extend beyond the standard 12 months. If all goes as expected, we may witness the transformed Test Track by the end of next year.
The objective of this transformation is not to alter the basic structure of the attraction but to enhance it. The thrilling high-speed conclusion will remain, but the surroundings will be upgraded. The concept art reveals the introduction of highway-like guardrails, trees, and a more naturalistic environment.
Disney intends to reveal more details about the project in due course. The D23 Expo Parks and Experiences panel, which will be live-streamed on August 10th, is expected to provide further insights into the Test Track’s transformation.
