As the weather begins to warm up and Spring Breakers begin to arrive, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the Space Coast this season. You can find something for everyone from those looking for a relaxing getaway to the adrenaline fans in your group. Soak up some rays or take a stroll down our 72 miles of beaches, head out on a fishing charter, or enjoy some camping either in a tent or RV. If you’re looking to get active, why not take a surf lesson or rent other kinds of boards and equipment to take to the waves, try out one of our zipline and ropes courses, or take to the skies in a helicopter or biplane tour. Don’t forget to visit Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex or the Brevard Zoo (voted top 5 Best Zoo in North America and #1 in the Southeast in 2020 by readers of USA Today’s 10Best.) It’s Spring on the Space Coast
If you’re more interested in nature, travel down the Indian River Lagoon, a unique, highly diverse, shallow-water estuary of national significance, via kayak to spot manatees, dolphins, and many species of birds. Plan a visit to the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, Playalinda Beach on Canaveral National Seashore, Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge, Indian River Preserve State Park, or Sebastian Inlet State Park. The weather is perfect to hit the trails – the Space Coast is along the Great Florida Birding Trail and Titusville is one of only a few Trail Towns in Florida, with three major trails converging. It’s also the beginning of sea turtle nesting season, so make sure to book a sea turtle night walk! There are many restrictions in place for sea turtles, so be sure to check our Sea Turtle Press Kit for more information.
