Guys’ Trip to Palm Coast and the Flagler Beaches

From chill beach vibes to outdoor adventures to great local eats, Palm Coast and the Flagler Beaches have everything your crew needs for an unforgettable weekend. So pack those bags, grab your buddies, and hit the road for the ultimate guys’ trip!

Day 1

VRBO

You’ve arrived! Check in to your 4,809 square foot, 7-bedroom, a 7.5-bath vacation rental near beautiful Cinnamon Beach. This mega Vrbo rental is decked out: two living rooms, a game room with a foosball table, fire pit, hammock, and more. Sports fans will love the 10 smart TVs that are scattered throughout the house. Buddies arriving in different vehicles? No problem. This rental fits six cars total: two in the garage and four in the driveway.

Once everyone’s called dibs on their rooms, head on over to the beach for a little sand and sun. It’s just a short walk away. Or pop over to one of two nearby community pools. Or just stay back and chill with the boys in your private pool.

If you feel like grilling out with the guys, you can drive over to the nearby Publix for supplies. But who really wants to cook on vacation? Instead, try dinner at one of Flagler Beach’s most popular hangouts: Oceanside Beach Bar and Grill. Grab a table upstairs for the unbeatable ocean views and easy access to the rooftop bar. Hungry? Chow down on mouthwatering seafood, fresh salads, and pasta dishes.

Day 2

Kayak

Up and at ‘em, boys! Hopefully, you’ve still got room for breakfast after last night’s big meal. Start the day going North on A1A, with a stop in Marineland for a quick bite.

Housed in a bright blue bus, Ragga Surf Café might not look like much to the average Joe. But, you’re no average Joe—you’re a group of intrepid travelers with a knack for spotting unique dining gems. And this food truck is just that. The menu is simple; the food is sophisticated. Choose from creative little numbers like the Dawn Patrol Breakfast Sandwich: scrambled eggs, savory cheese, and crisp bacon are doused with avocado aioli and served on a warm croissant. Need a morning jolt? Grab a cold brew and power up, quick. This bus is pulling out for our next stop.

You’re not going far—in fact, you could have walked here from Ragga. But you’re about to spend 2.5 hours in a kayak, so go easy on yourself. Ripple Effect Ecotours offers several kayak excursions. Led by a certified Florida Naturalist, you and the boys will paddle through the beautiful Matanzas River Estuary where you can see dolphins, birds, and maybe even a gator or two.

For a great post-kayak meal, stop at Captain’s BBQ. Named by Tripadvisor as one of “The 10 Best BBQ Joints in America,” Captain’s slow-cooks its meats and sides in a wood-burning smoker. The result? Incredibly flavorful, succulent dishes. Get the beef brisket plate with a heap of mac and cheese and smoked beans.

Captains BBQ

After lunch, head back to the Vrbo for more pool time and maybe a nap before the afternoon activity. The Jack Nicklaus-designed Ocean Course at Hammock Beach Golf Resort and Spa is challenging as well as beautiful, with six holes overlooking the Atlantic. There’s also a 10,000-square-foot putting green and chipping green.

Once you’ve wrapped up your round, head to the Atlantic Grille for an early dinner. It’s located right on Hammock Beach property—no driving necessary. The views of both the course and the ocean are unparalleled, so ask to sit on the patio. It’s recommended you start with an order of small plates, like the tuna tartare, and a round of drinks. For the main course, our vote is for the shrimp and grits.

The sun might be starting to set, but the night is just beginning for you and the guys. Next, head up to European Village for a few cold ones and some live music at Cork & Pint. With 20 beers on tap, more than 80 fine wines, and 200 craft beers, there’s a drink for even the pickiest of your pals. Before you head back, swing by The Humidor and check out their selection of cigars to cap off the day.

Day 3

Yum

It’s time to take it slow on the last day of this guys’ trip. Sleep in a bit, then load up for a drive to The Funky Pelican for a casual breakfast. Morning staples like pancakes, bacon, and eggs, and biscuits and gravy are available, as well as specialties like the seafood omelet. Sit outside and enjoy your meal with a Bloody Mary and ocean views.

Once full,  head next door to the Flagler Beach Pier, where you can rent fishing poles for a small fee. Drop a line and soak up that salt air and Florida sunshine—your guys’ weekend will soon come to a close.

After you’ve reeled it in, take a bit of time to explore the shops around Flagler Beach. Be sure to stop into the Florida Workshop for locally made swag like t-shirts, stickers, and candles.

The last and final stop is for something out of this world. A1A Burrito Works’ Mexican UFO is a cheesy, crunchy, chewy round disc of deliciousness that can’t be missed. Choose from several different proteins, pick your toppings, and then wait as it’s added to a Tostado and wrapped with a tortilla. It’s a stellar way to end your getaway with the guys.
