Gary Suhl, wanted to give his kids and other kids in Osceola County a place to practice the sport of rodeo.
As the story goes on, the kids were making use of the new practice arena on a regular basis.
People started to show up to watch the kids practice and socialize.
An idea hit him – maybe he could start charging for admission and have people come watch these talented kids.
In 1992 Suhls Rodeo started off with seating for 200 people. Now they seat 800 and have a 2,000 sq.ft. western saloon.
Over the years many contestants got their start here and have gone on to reach the heights of professional rodeo on the national stage.
In July of 2017, Gary Suhl passed away. Son Jed along with his wife and daughter wanted to continue his father’s dream.
They hope to send another generation of kids to the pinnacle of rodeo and hopefully for them to become world champion’s just like his dad did.
It doesn’t matter if you like Bull Riding, Barrel Racing, or Bronc Riding, Suhls Rodeo at Kissimmee Sports Arena has something for everyone.
It’s authentic – and it takes place on Friday nights under the lights at the Kissimmee Sports Arena.
