Where Is Universal Epic Universe Located?

Epic Universe will be situated on a sprawling 750-acre site near the Orange County Convention Center, just south of Sand Lake Road and east of Universal Boulevard. It’s approximately a 12-minute drive from the main Universal Orlando Resort. This park will be the largest Universal park in the United States, nearly doubling the total acreage of Universal’s existing properties. Universal has stated that guests will have access to transportation between Epic Universe and the other Universal Orlando destinations.

Currently, Universal Orlando Resort features three parks: Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, and Universal Volcano Bay water theme park. Additionally, it includes Universal CityWalk, a vibrant area for entertainment, shopping, and dining, as well as eight resort hotels. The two newest hotels, known as Universal's Endless Summer Resort, are conveniently located between the main resort and Epic Universe.

Step Into Five Stunning Worlds – Designed for Every Interest

The park is built around five carefully designed "lands," each offering a completely unique environment. This goes beyond a collection of rides—each space feels alive, with interactive features, food inspired by the world itself, and entertainment that engages all ages.

Celestial Park: A Central Hub That’s More Than Just a Starting Point

Celestial Park is the heart of the new park—and unlike most theme park "hubs," it’s designed to offer more than just a passageway between rides.

  • Relaxing Garden Atmosphere: This serene garden, with fountains, water features, and star-themed pathways, encourages slowing down.
  • Things to Do:
    • Spend time walking its shaded paths during the afternoon, taking in the design and stopping for breaks at scattered seating areas—perfect for families needing some rest.
    • At night, Celestial Park transforms, with glowing pathways and soft lighting creating a magical atmosphere for an evening stroll.
  • Dining Tip: Plan your mealtimes here. Its collection of restaurants will feature global cuisines—Chinese, Italian, and modern American fare. Arriving during quieter periods (early lunch or late dinner) guarantees shorter waits and a more relaxing experience.
  • Pro Insight: If your family needs a calm moment mid-day, use this area as a regrouping spot. Split up, grab a snack, and enjoy some downtime before heading back into the action.

Super Nintendo World: Gaming Nostalgia Turned Reality

For families with kids (or parents!) who love video games, this interactive land will feel like stepping straight into a beloved classic.

  • Interactive Highlights:
    • Purchase Power-Up Bands: Wearable wristbands that allow you to interact with the land. Hit question blocks to collect "coins," unlock secrets, and compete for high scores.
    • Stay Engaged: This keeps younger kids involved, even while waiting or exploring quieter sections.
  • Top Attractions:
    • Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge: This mix of virtual reality and real-world track racing makes you feel like an active part of the experience, steering and collecting items.
    • Character Meet-and-Greets: Snap photos with Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach—essential for younger visitors. Tip: Line up early to avoid long waits.
  • Make It a Game: Link your Power-Up Band to the app early in the day to track scores. For competitive families, this turns the area into an extended game, keeping everyone entertained beyond the rides.

How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk: Family-Friendly Fun

Designed for families, the Isle of Berk brings DreamWorks' How to Train Your Dragon films to life. It offers a balance of adventure and relaxed activities for all ages.

  • Key Highlights:
    • Hiccup’s Wing Gliders: A family-friendly coaster that "soars" over Berk. It’s thrilling enough for older kids but smooth enough for younger ones.
    • Interactive Play Areas:
      • Viking ship playgrounds
      • Water features where kids can burn off energy safely while parents take a breather.
  • Themed Food: Try hearty stews, roasted meats, and fun drinks inspired by the Viking world. Parents can enjoy refreshing ales while kids indulge in themed soft drinks.
  • Timing Tip: Visit late morning or early afternoon. Families often start their day here, so crowds may thin as lunch approaches. This is also a great spot for a relaxed meal.

Dark Universe: Spooky Thrills for Older Kids and Adults

For families with older kids, this atmospheric area adds just the right mix of eerie design and thrilling rides. Drawing from iconic Universal monsters like Frankenstein and The Wolfman, this land offers excitement without going overboard on the fright factor.

  • Must-Try Ride: Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment. Expect:
    • Multi-sensory surprises
    • Sudden movements and high-quality visual effects that create unexpected thrills.
  • Hidden Details: Look for atmospheric surprises, including:
    • Street performers
    • Hidden references and themed shops that immerse you in a classic horror movie setting.
  • Pro Tip: Visit during daylight to reduce the "spooky" factor for younger visitors. Return at night for a completely different atmosphere that older kids and adults will love.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic

If your family already enjoys the Harry Potter lands at Universal, the Ministry of Magic delivers something brand new. This area brings together:

  • Two Magical Settings:
    • The 1920s Paris setting of Fantastic Beasts
    • The iconic British Ministry of Magic from the main series
  • Unique Experiences: Expect live performances featuring aerialists, puppetry, and special effects.
  • Prepare Ahead: Watch Fantastic Beasts movies before visiting to help younger family members recognise settings and characters, making the land even more engaging.

Tickets: Save Money and Avoid Stress

Choosing the right tickets makes a huge difference. For UK families, the 2025 Explorer Ticket is great value:

  • What You Get:
    • 14 consecutive days of access to all Universal parks, including one day at the newest addition.
  • Why It’s Worth It:
    • Revisiting favourites is stress-free without needing to cram everything into a single day.
    • The flexibility lets you enjoy rides and attractions at your family’s own pace.
  • Pro Tip: Book early to secure lower prices and avoid disappointment. Anticipated demand means last-minute availability may be tough during peak seasons.

Stay On-Site for Maximum Convenience

Universal's Helios Grand Hotel, located within Celestial Park, offers the ultimate way to enjoy your trip.

  • Top Benefits:
    • Private Early Park Access: Enter before general admission to experience popular rides with shorter queues.
    • Cut Down Travel Time: Walk directly into the park, avoiding shuttle delays or parking stress.
    • Family-Friendly Amenities: Relax at rooftop lounges, enjoy the swimming pool, or recharge with spacious rooms ideal for mid-day breaks.
  • Pro Tip: Use early access to ride popular attractions first thing in the morning, then return to the hotel for a swim or nap before heading back for evening fun.

Your Experience Awaits

This isn’t just another theme park—it’s a fully immersive destination designed to create unforgettable family memories. By planning ahead, prioritising key attractions, and taking full advantage of on-site perks, your family can enjoy a holiday that’s as smooth as it is exciting.

Take the time to wander, appreciate the detail, and enjoy the surprises—this is a destination full of moments you’ll talk about for years to come.
